Leslie Carter was born on June 6, 1986. She was an aspiring singer best known for being the sister of Nick Carter who was a member of the Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter, also a singer. Leslie signed a deal with DreamWorks, but the album was never released. She had a single called “Like Wow” that was on the “Shrek” motion picture soundtrack.  Leslie also appeared on the family’s reality television show, “House of Carter”. Although Leslie was an aspiring singer who was a sibling to two famous musicians, she struggled with depression which had her on multiple medications.

 

Leslie Carter was found dead on February 1, 2012 in her home in Mayville, New York. She lived there with her step mother, Ginger Carter and father, Robert Carter. She was 25 years old. According to US Weekly, “That morning, Leslie was feeling sick and appeared depressed, Ginger told police in a later interview. She later discovered that Leslie had fallen asleep in the shower, and escorted her to bed. That afternoon, Ginger and husband Robert discovered Leslie still unconscious in bed, and called 911”. It was reported that Leslie died from an overdose of drugs to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (huffingtonpost.com). Leslie was married to Mike Ashton, they have a 10 month old daughter. She is also survived by her four siblings, her mother, Jane Elizabeth Spaulding and her father, Robert Carter.

 

There are no reports of a will or the amount of her estate.
